How to Give Help
There are many ways to give back to your community.  By supporting Crossway Community you are making a direct contribution to families working to improve their lives and the lives of their children.  Crossway partners with many local schools, churches, synagogues, civic organizations and professional organizations to deliver goods and services to families in need.  You can get your group involved or contribute on your own.

Volunteer

Whether you want to volunteer for a short period of time, or come regularly for a longer period of time, Crossway has service-learning opportunities for you.  Many of our volunteers have become employees or have gone on to careers in the areas they volunteered. Here are some of the many choices you have to get involved:

  • We invite members from the business field to host a one-hour workshop on job readiness and business etiquette to our Family Leadership School students.  Sample topics include: how to prepare for an interview, what employers look for in an employee, etiquette in a business environment, getting along with co-workers, career advancement.
  • Provide information to Crossway Community staff about available entry level positions at your company, how your company advertises, what you are looking for in employees, average annual salary, benefits, etc.
  • Be an Economic Literacy Coach and assist young mothers with their personal finances.  Assist mothers with their monthly budgets and bill paying, as well as help mothers create long-term financial savings plans.
  • Help mothers improve their written and spoken communication skills as a Literacy Coach.  Assist women who are trying to enter/re-enter degree programs.
  • Be a Technology Coach and help Family Leadership School students improve their technology skills by hosting a one-hour workshop or providing small group computer training.
  • Design a Microsoft Access database to help staff track client data, etc.
